This item looked like just what I wanted. Pictures, however, tell only part of the story. The design and construction of this item are so faulty as to make it unsuable.
Starting from the ground up, the stake that goes into the ground is too short and can't be inserted below the frost line.
The intermediate post attaches to the ground stake with a simple slip-fit. However, there is too much play in the fit and the post rocks back and forth a great deal.
The water supply pipe which attaches to the intermediate post was improperly bent at the factory, causing the reel to sit at an angle. Also, the metal cap that secures the water supply pipe to the intermediate post wouldn't line up correctly and I couldn't insert the screws.
I returned it and bought a freestanding reel from Rapid-Reel.

This hose-reel is great. Easy to install. Instructions suggest putting the pole in concrete, but our soil is so full of clay, that we did not need to concrete the base in the ground. Very easy to assemble and it holds a lot of hose. The large reel makes it very easy to wind. Very good quality.

I had high hopes for this hose reel, but I had three problems which has caused me to return the item after one day.
1. Wrong Hardware: Attached to the reel was a hardware packet and instructions for the Yard Butler HTC-1 Garden Hose Truck. While it was not a huge problem since the reel handle fit the SR-360 and all I was missing was a second set screw, I really wonder about Yard Butler's quality control.
2. Hose Gets Stuck: This was my biggest problem. I was using a heavy duty 5/8 inch 100ft hose and when I rolled it onto the reel the hose got hung up between the support arm and the hose already rolled onto the reel. If you roll the hose up completely evenly, it's fine, but because the reel swivels so freely it is very hard to achieve a "perfect" roll. If you use a light duty hose or less than 100ft this will not be an issue, but I don't understand why they designed the support arm so close to the underside of the reel.
3. Needs Cement: The product description does not mention the fact that the item needs to be cemented into the ground. Had the reel work well I would not have a problem with a permanent installation, but I think it should be mentioned in the description and people should be aware that they will need to cement the support post into the ground. Initially, I was hoping it could be installed by driving the support into the ground without cement, but because of design and shut-off valve that is impossible.
So now that it's being returned, I think I am going to spend the extra money and buy a Rapid Reel Free Standing Garden Hose Reel Model #1042-GH. I have a Rapid Reel wall mounted reel and it's great.
